Service Description

Emily will visit your location for an on site consultation. She will spend 2-3 hours getting to know you and your land. She will start by getting to know the land. She will walk the property and assess its hydrology, soil health and composition, wind mitigation needs, sunlight, the surrounding area's ecosystems, pre-existing vegetation, possible presence of invasive species that should be removed, etc. She will walk the land to get a feel for its "personality" and needs. She will then spend time getting to know you. Emily will sit down with you and discuss at length what you hope to use your garden for. She will provide advice and guidance on how to be a good guardian of your land. She will teach you how to support local wildlife, how to build a food forest (regardless of the size of your property), how to restore soil health, care for plants both short and long term all while building a place of tranquil natural beauty for yourself. The goal of the consultation will be to get to know you, your land, and to teach you how to build and care for a garden that will be restorative to both you and the local ecosystem. After completing the consultation, Emily will return to her office and begin designing your garden. Within a week of the initial consultation you will receive a scaled master plan that you can use with a contractor or complete yourself.
